Terms of use
Plain terms for a free tool: convert what you have the right to convert, do not attack the service, and keep a copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
1. The service
FileFormatLab provides free online file conversion tools. Using the site means accepting these terms. No account is created and no contract beyond this page comes into existence.
2. What you may convert
You may convert files you own or otherwise have the right to convert. You may not use the service for material that is unlawful, that infringes someone else copyright, or that you have no permission to process. Converting a format does not change who owns the contents: your files remain entirely yours, and we claim no licence over them beyond what is technically required to perform the conversion you asked for.
3. Fair use limits
The published limits are 100 MB per file and 20 files per batch. Media jobs stop after ten minutes; large files may exceed browser memory. Automated or scripted use, scraping, and any attempt to run the service as a backend for another product are not permitted. Requests that overload the service may be rate limited or blocked so the tools stay available to everyone else.
4. No warranty
The tools are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. File conversion is not lossless in general: a format that cannot represent something will drop it, and a complex layout may shift. Always keep your original file, and check the result before you rely on it or send it somewhere that matters. We do not guarantee that any particular conversion will succeed, or that the service will be available without interruption.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Since the service is free, any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the amount you paid to use it.
6. Availability and changes
Tools may be added, changed or withdrawn without notice, and the service may be taken offline for maintenance. Deliberate attempts to break, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service are prohibited and may be reported.
7. Privacy
How files and data are handled is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: available converters process files on your device. Server conversions are not connected and upload nothing.
